We work with retailers, brands, and private label customers across the United States. We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our team and help bring innovative products from concept to production. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Apparel Technical Designer to join our Design team. This role is responsible for managing the technical development of apparel from concept through production, ensuring all garments meet company standards for fit, construction, quality, and manufacturability. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fit, and works collaboratively with Design, Product Development, and overseas manufacturing partners to deliver high-quality products on schedule. Key Responsibilities Create, update, and maintain comprehensive technical packages (tech packs) for apparel styles. Develop detailed garment specifications, graded measurement charts, construction details, bill of materials (BOMs), and sewing instructions. Conduct fit sessions and evaluate proto, fit, sales, pre-production, and TOP samples, providing clear and accurate fit comments. Analyze garment fit, construction, workmanship, and quality, recommending pattern and construction revisions as needed. Partner closely with Design, Product Development, Production, and Merchandising teams throughout the product lifecycle. Communicate technical requirements and fit corrections with overseas factories and vendors to ensure accurate execution. Monitor sample development, approvals, and production timelines to support seasonal calendars. Collaborate with patternmakers and manufacturers to resolve technical challenges while maintaining design intent. Ensure all products meet company standards for fit, quality, construction, and cost objectives. Maintain organized technical documentation and ensure all style information is current and accurate within PLM and internal systems. Support continuous improvement of technical standards, fit consistency, and development processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Product Development, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in Apparel Technical Design. Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and apparel manufacturing processes. Experience conducting garment fit sessions and writing comprehensive fit comments. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office, and PLM systems. Excellent understanding of woven, knit, and denim construction techniques. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and with overseas manufacturing partners. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and verbal) preferred, but not required. Experience working directly with overseas apparel factories.
