Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Performs research, including shopping to determine and analyze fashion trends in color, style, fabric, trims, and competitive product.
- Works with sales and management executives in regards to findings and predictions.
- Compares yarn and other apparel materials, and integrates information with personal interests, tastes, and knowledge of design to create new designs for target customers.
- Learns target customer and price points.
- Sketches rough and detailed drawings of apparel and writes specifications describing factors such as color scheme, construction, and type of material to be used.
- Involved in coordinating activities of workers involved in pattern making, cutting and sample garment construction.
- Participates in the examination of sample garments on and off model and modifies design as necessary to achieve desired effect.
- Monitors calendar to ensure completion of line.
- Responsible for creating accurate Illustrator flats for all styles to be entered into the Tech Pack.
- Responsible to determine all yields, fabric, and trim information, checking for accuracy before handing off to the tech Team.
- Responsible to stay on the planning calendar for the hand off all technical Information to the production team.
- Owns the communication of the details of these handoffs to the Production team.
- Create accurate paperwork to be communicated to the Technical Coordinators for entry into the PLM package. This final step is critical to ensure all information entered the final
- Production PLM package is accurate and will produce the garment to specifications required.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in apparel/fashion related major
- 3+ years of experience in fashion design
- Sweater knowledge is a plus
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Knowledge of WebPLM is a plus Please include portfolio link when applying
