ASSISTANT TECHNICAL DESIGNER
Rockstar Original (RSO) is a Los Angeles-based fashion brand known for bold streetwear, limited-edition designs, statement graphics, and trend-driven apparel. THE ROLE
We are seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support our Senior Technical Design Manager across our Men's, Women's, and Kids' divisions. This role is ideal for someone with strong garment construction knowledge, a sharp eye for fit and quality, and hands-on experience supporting garments from development through bulk production. You'll work closely with Technical Design and cross-functional teams to help ensure our products meet RSO's standards for fit, construction, quality, and consistency.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Support the Senior Technical Design Manager across all aspects of technical design for Men's, Women's, and Kids' apparel Measure and spec garments throughout Development, Pre-Production (PP), Top of Production (TOP), and Bulk Production Conduct quality control reviews of Development, PP, TOP, and Bulk garments to ensure measurements, construction, workmanship, and overall execution meet established standards Attend fittings and accurately document fit observations, measurements, photos, and construction details Prepare clear and detailed fit comments and garment corrections based on direction from the Technical Design Manager Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining technical packages (tech packs) from development through production Create and update technical flat sketches, construction details, and colorways as needed Track fit and construction revisions to ensure comments and corrections are accurately communicated and executed Identify potential fit, construction, or quality issues and escalate them to the Technical Design Manager Maintain organized technical records and help keep development and production timelines on track Partner with Design, Production, and other cross-functional teams to support accurate and timely product execution
WHO YOU ARE
Associate degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience 3+ years of relevant apparel technical design experience Strong knowledge of garment construction, specifications, measurements, fit, and production processes Hands-on experience with garment measuring, fittings, fit comments, and tech packs Experience working with Men's and Women's denim strongly preferred Understanding of woven and knit garment construction is a plus Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of additional Adobe Creative Suite programs preferred Strong understanding of technical flats and garment construction callouts Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills Comfortable managing multiple styles, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment Able to work independently, take direction, and follow through with minimal supervision Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical garment information Proactive, solutions-oriented, and eager to continue developing your technical design expertise
