As needed based on business needs Position Overview DÔEN is seeking a detail-oriented Freelance Technical Designer to support our Technical Design team across the development and production of our women's ready-to-wear collections. This role will work closely with Technical Design, Design, Product Development, Production, and external vendors to support garment fit, construction, quality, and overall execution. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in women's apparel technical design, a thoughtful eye for fit and proportion, and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines within a fast-paced seasonal environment. Key Responsibilities Support the technical development of DÔEN women's ready-to-wear from initial development through production. Participate in fit sessions and assist in evaluating garments for fit, proportion, balance, construction, and workmanship. Prepare detailed fit comments, measurement updates, construction callouts, and sample corrections. Create and maintain tech packs, measurement specifications, construction details, and technical documentation. Measure and evaluate development, fit, pre-production, and TOP samples against established specifications. Partner with Design and Technical Design to help maintain the intended silhouette and design integrity throughout development. Collaborate with Product Development and Production to address fit, construction, and manufacturing issues. Communicate sample comments and technical corrections clearly to domestic and overseas vendors. Assist with reviewing grading, tolerances, garment measurements, and construction details. Maintain accurate fit history, specifications, approvals, and technical information within internal tracking systems. Track assigned styles and samples to support seasonal development and production deadlines. Proactively flag potential fit, quality, or construction concerns to the Technical Design team. Qualifications 2-3 years of Technical Design experience , preferably within women's contemporary, designer, or luxury apparel. Experience working with women's ready-to-wear categories such as dresses, woven tops, skirts, bottoms, knits, and/or sweaters. Strong working knowledge of garment construction, fit, measurements, specifications, and grading. Experience participating in fit sessions and preparing clear, actionable fit comments. Experience creating and updating tech packs and measurement specifications. Familiarity with development and production samples, including fit, PP, and TOP samples. Experience communicating with domestic and/or overseas vendors preferred. Working knowledge of PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within seasonal deadlines. Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally.
