About Us For more than two decades, Entertainment Retail Enterprises (ERE) has been a leader in the design, development, and distribution of private-label and licensed merchandise for some of the most recognized brands and retailers in the industry. As our portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Apparel Technical Designer to join our Product Development team and support multiple men's and women's apparel brands. This role will serve as the technical partner to our Designers/Product Developers, taking ownership of construction, fit, specifications, and grading as styles move through development and into production.
Requirements:
What You'll Do Partner with Designers/Product Developers after initial design and tech pack creation to manage the technical development of styles through production. Own garment construction, fit, specifications, and grading throughout the development process. Review initial design tech packs and ensure construction and technical details are complete and production-ready. Lead fit sessions and evaluate garments for t, balance, proportion, construction, and functionality. Own fit comments and technical corrections, updating tech packs and communicating clear direction to overseas teams. Create, maintain, and update measurement specifications throughout development. Establish and maintain grade rules and ensure accurate grading across size ranges. Request and review patterns from factories as needed, identify pattern-related fit issues, and clearly communicate necessary corrections. Evaluate development, fit, pre-production, and TOP samples and provide technical approvals and corrections. Ensure fit, construction, pattern, and grading changes are accurately executed in subsequent samples. Partner closely with Designers/Product Developers to maintain design intent while ensuring garments are technically sound and production-ready. Work directly with our China office and overseas factories to resolve construction, fit, pattern, grading, and manufacturing issues. Proactively identify technical issues and provide solutions before they impact production timelines. Help establish and maintain consistent fit standards, blocks, specifications, and grading across brands and product categories. Ensure final production specifications and technical documentation are complete and accurate prior to production. Manage technical development across multiple brands, product categories, and development calendars simultaneously. Prioritize multiple projects and shift focus as business needs change while maintaining critical timelines. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field preferred. 5-6+ years of apparel technical design experience. Experience with both men's and women's apparel and multiple product categories preferred. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, specifications, patternmaking, and grading. Strong understanding of both woven and knit construction. Ability to read and evaluate garment patterns and advise factories on necessary pattern corrections. Experience conducting fit sessions and managing the fit process from development through production. Strong knowledge of grade rules, tolerances, measurement standards, and production specifications. Ability to translate design intent into technically accurate, production-ready garments. Experience working directly with overseas factories and development teams. Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and apparel tech packs. Experience with PLM systems preferred; WFX experience is a plus. Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to independently manage a high volume of styles across multiple brands and calendars. Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt quickly as development priorities change. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
