Based in Cheektowaga, NY, we manage the complete product lifecycle from initial sketch and tech pack creation to prototype fitting and production coordination with manufacturing partners. We are dedicated to creating high-quality, distinctive apparel that emphasizes detail, playful aesthetics, and thoughtful construction. Job description Nyahallo is an independent apparel brand specializing in original, creative garments with a growing online community. We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Fashion & Garment Development Assistant for a paid part-time role to assist with sample fittings, tech packs, and production coordination. This position offers hands-on experience in bringing custom fashion concepts from initial prototypes to full manufacturing, working directly with our technical design process.
Key Responsibilities:
    In-Person Sample Fittings:
    Participate in fit sessions at our Cheektowaga studio, pin garments, record measurements, and document fit revisions.
      Tech Packs & Specs:
      Assist in creating and updating technical flat sketches, measurement specs, and BOMs using Adobe Illustrator, Excel, or related design tools.
        Production Coordination:
        Help communicate technical updates, fit notes, and CAD revisions to domestic and international manufacturing partners.
          Quality Control:
          Inspect incoming garment samples for construction accuracy, fabric weight, and stitching quality.
          Profile Requirements & Qualifications:
          • Enrolled in (or graduate of) a Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Textile Technology, or related degree program, or possess equivalent practical experience in technical design.
          • Understanding of garment construction, sewing, patternmaking, and apparel fitting.
          • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Excel, or other garment specification software for creating tech packs and flat sketches.
          • Strong attention to detail and reliable communication.
          • Ability to commute to Cheektowaga, NY for periodic in-person fit sessions.
          Compensation & Schedule:
            Pay:
            $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on experience).
              Hours:
              Part-time (10-29 hours/week) with flexible scheduling around classes or external work.
