1 Role Description As a Freelance Denim Designer , you will support the Denim Design Lead across seasonal design development, wash management, product development, and PLM execution. You will help take denim products from concept through proto while working closely with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and vendors. Key Responsibilities
- Update sketches, BOMs, and product information in Centric PLM.
- Organize and prepare wash samples for review, including documenting wash comments and supporting wash development.
- Maintain and update Miro boards, Visulon boards, and digital assortment boards.
- Organize and track proto samples throughout the development process.
- Support seasonal design development through accurate documentation, sample tracking, and cross-functional communication.
- Maintain organized product, wash, and sample libraries for design reviews and key milestones.
- Participate in proto reviews, fit sessions, wash reviews, and milestone meetings.
- Document feedback, manage revisions, and ensure updates are communicated across teams.
- Participate in development and post-proto meetings to ensure feedback is clearly documented and actioned.
- Help keep projects aligned with key calendar milestones and proactively identify potential delays.
- Prepare and present design boards and product reviews to the design lead and cross-functional teams. Qualifications
- 4+ years of apparel design experience, with denim design experience required .
- Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Fashion Design.
- Strong understanding of denim construction, garment washes, and wash development.
- Hands-on experience with Centric PLM required .
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Proficiency with Miro.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and vendors.
- 3D design experience is a plus. Important Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and eligible for W2 employment.
- Candidates must be located in or able to commute to New York City for the required in-office schedule.
