Music & Dance is a growing performing arts school in Houston offering children's musical theatre productions, dance classes, music lessons, and camps. Each year, hundreds of students participate in our theatre program, performing fully staged productions for family and friends. Our productions emphasize creativity, teamwork, and age-appropriate family entertainment. Productions for the 2026-2027 Season Jingle Jury October-December 2026 1 Cast Annie January-March 2027 Up to 3 Casts Newsies March-May 2027 Up to 2 Casts Final cast counts are determined by enrollment.
Responsibilities Responsibilities include:
Designing costume concepts in collaboration with directors Sourcing, constructing, altering, and organizing costumes Managing costume fittings Maintaining costume plots and costume assignments Tracking costume inventory Managing production costume budgets Attending required production meetings, fittings, dress rehearsals, tech rehearsals, performances, and costume strike Organizing and maintaining RISE's costume inventory between productions Much of the costume preparation and sewing work may be completed offsite. $3,600 Estimated total compensation for the 2026-2027 season is up to $9,000 . Costume budgets are provided separately and are not included in contractor compensation. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Organized and detail-oriented Reliable and dependable Comfortable working with children and families Collaborative with directors and production staff Creative while working within production budgets Able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously Experience with theatrical costume design is preferred. Sewing and alteration experience is strongly preferred. Experience maintaining costume inventories or costume plots is a plus.
