This position is ideal for someone who is not only a strong floral designer, but is also comfortable handling the day-to-day operations of a flower shop. We are looking for someone dependable who can take responsibility for the shop and keep operations running smoothly when the owner is away. Responsibilities Create professional, high-quality floral arrangements, bouquets, vase arrangements, sympathy designs, and custom orders. Work confidently with roses, hydrangeas, orchids, lilies, tropical flowers, and a wide variety of seasonal flowers. Read and complete online and phone orders accurately according to customer requests. Answer customer phone calls professionally and take floral orders over the phone. Assist walk-in customers and provide excellent customer service. Use a computer, POS system, email, and online ordering platforms. Print, organize, prioritize, and manage daily orders. Coordinate orders and deliveries with drivers. Monitor flower inventory and communicate what needs to be purchased or restocked. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional floral workspace. Help manage daily shop operations and keep everything running smoothly. Be capable of independently managing the shop when the owner is traveling or unavailable. Requirements Professional floral design experience is required. Strong floral design skills and knowledge of fresh flowers. Previous flower shop experience strongly preferred. Must be comfortable working independently. Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills. Comfortable using computers and learning our ordering/POS systems. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Reliable, punctual, responsible, and detail-oriented. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during holidays and busy floral seasons. Weekend availability is important. Must be flexible to work additional days/hours when needed, particularly during busy periods or when the owner is traveling.
