Starting Pay:

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced floral designer to support our award-winning retail flower shop. Exceptionally strong design skills and a high degree of independent creativity required to support our floral department. Must be experienced in all types of funeral work, weddings, corsages, bouquets, and everyday designs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Design and create unique floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings, funerals, birthdays, and holidays. Build creative and appealing "Designer's Choice" and recipe-based arrangements to order and within budget. Assist customers in person and by phone in selecting the perfect flowers and arrangements to meet their needs and budget. Process orders and check-out customers through our point-of-sale system handling transactions accurately. Maintain inventory of fresh flowers, plants, and supplies. Order flowers and supplies as needed with the direction of the Manager. Collaborate with the team to ensure the shop is well-stocked and visually appealing. Keep the store clean and organized through sweeping, mopping, and cleaning buckets, etc. Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Perform other job-related duties and special projects as necessary.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Professional floral design experience. A self-starter with a strong sense of discipline and time management. Ability to work independently with a high degree of productivity. Eye for detail and ability to pick up on trends. Ability to compose an entire product from start to finish. Proficient at product placement and creation. Ability to adapt to changes and product substitutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic math skills and the ability to read and interpret invoices and work orders to ensure customized pieces match the budget of the customer or specified design.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor and walk across different areas to obtain product and materials. Exposure to different temperatures in the shop and cooler. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
