Job Description

Job Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Part-Time Shop Assistant to support daily operations in a generator sales and service shop. This role is ideal for someone who likes staying busy, working with their hands, and being part of a team that keeps critical power equipment ready to go. You'll play a key role in preparing upcoming jobs, keeping the shop organized, and helping technicians stay efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and stage parts, tools, and materials for upcoming service and install jobs Receive, organize, and stock incoming inventory and parts Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and safety standards Deliver parts and pick up supplies from vendors as needed Assist technicians with basic, non-technical tasks Load and unload trucks for field jobs Help track and label parts for specific work orders Perform general shop upkeep and miscellaneous tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Good organizational skills and attention to detail Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stay active throughout the shift Basic mechanical aptitude (preferred but not required) Dependable and able to work independently without constant supervision
Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 15-25 hours per week Flexible scheduling may be available
Compensation:
$18.00-$23.00 per hour, based on experience Opportunity for growth into a full-time or technical role over time
Work Environment:
Indoor shop and occasional outdoor work Fast-paced, hands-on environment supporting generator service and installation crews
