Job Type:
Part-time or freelance A busy wedding and event design and production company in Central NJ, is seeking an experienced floral and event designer to join our team on a part-time or freelance basis. This position includes floral production and preparation at our studio, as well as on-site installation at wedding and event venues. We are specifically looking for someone with experience designing large floral structures, high centerpieces, staircases, with knowledge of working with fabric draping, backdrops, and other event installations.
Responsibilities:
Design and produce floral arrangements for weddings and special events Create centerpieces, ceremony flowers, personal flowers, and other floral décor Decorate large structures, including chuppahs, arches, staircases, mantels, and backdrops Knowledge of designing fabric drapery. Install fabric backdrops, event draping, and pipe-and-drape systems Travel to wedding and event venues for on-site installations Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of design and quality Complete all production and installation work within strict venue timelines Carefully handle flowers, fabrics, structures, and finished décor Keep the studio and production areas clean and organized
Requirements:
Prior professional floral or event design experience is required Experience with weddings and large-scale event installations Experience creating, designing & installing fabric backdrops and event draping Knowledge of pipe-and-drape systems and proper fabric installation techniques Strong knowledge of floral mechanics and installation methods Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow a design plan and work within an established floral style Weekend availability is required Weekday studio schedule flexible Dependable, punctual, neat, hardworking, and organized Strong team player with a positive and professional attitude Able to lift and carry event materials, climb a ladder, and remain standing for extended periods Reliable transportation to and from our studio
