THE JOB:
It is the primary responsibility of the Floral Manager to oversee operations and design for all aspects of floral design including visual displays, seasonal decor, retail, weddings and events. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts policies, practices and procedures.THE DAY-TO-DAY
Oversee floral operations to include floral event planning, installation and tear down, scheduling, logistics, inventory, purchasing, receiving, linen, drape, plants, budgets and monthly reporting. Monitors production time, quality, profitability, timelines, and logistics. Effectively communicates project status to team members, clients, and stakeholders. Maintain knowledge base of properties, including ballroom specs and loading dock security procedures. Performs regular site inspections to enhance property aesthetics. Promotes best practices through regular process & procedure evaluations. Oversee design teams responsible for concept, proposal, design, and creation of floral arrangements. Researches and applies a comprehensive knowledge of current and evolving best practices and industry trends. Approve Purchase Requests for your department and monitor costs by event. Cultivate a creative and collaborative environment to inspire design and build cohesive teams. Mentor, coach and train employees on design and production techniques, tools and equipment. Interview, pre-screen, make hiring recommendations and evaluate and counsel employees.THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Must be 21 years of age or older Bachelor's Degree in Floral, art, design or related industry Preferred 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in the floral, horticulture, design or special event industry Required 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in Supervisory or management experience Required Experience managing multiple event décor productions in a high-volume environment Preferred Experience interviewing, training, problem solving Preferred Portfolio may be required; may complete a design test within a specific time frame PreferredTHE PERKS & BENEFITS
