Senior Floral Designer for Decor & Ambiance Team Palma NYC New York, NY Job Details Part-time | Full-time $26 - $29 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Floral design Full Job Description Job Details Palma, a charming and intimate Italian restaurant located in the heart of the West Village, is seeking an experienced, creative, and highly organized Senior Floral Designer to lead our Decor and ambiance program. This role is ideal for someone with a strong design eye, experience managing floral installations and events, and a passion for creating warm, visually memorable guest experiences. The Senior Floral Designer will oversee daily floral operations, seasonal design direction, and event dcor execution while working closely with ownership and the events team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Floral DesignCreative Direction Collaborate with ownership to plan and design and execute daily floral arrangements and installations throughout the restaurant and event spaces. Collaborate to develop seasonal floral concepts that align with the restaurant's aesthetic and brand identity. Maintain the quality, freshness, and presentation of all flowers and plants. EventInstallation Management Lead floral setup and dcor execution for private events, weddings, and special occasions. Coordinate timelines, prep, and breakdown for event installations. Assist in sourcing vessels, dcor elements, candles, linens, and specialty materials as needed. InventoryOperations Manage floral inventory, ordering, processing, and organization of supplies and workspaces. Maintain cleanliness and organization of floral storage areas, prep spaces, and event dcor inventory. Monitor floral costs and minimize waste while maintaining high design standards. Team Collaboration Work closely with restaurant management, event coordinators, and service teams to ensure seamless execution of floral and dcor initiatives. Assist in training and guiding junior floral assistants or support staff when needed. Support general event and operational needs in a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

Preferred 2+ years of professional floral design experience, preferably in hospitality, events, weddings, or luxury service environments. Strong portfolio demonstrating floral styling, installations, and event work. Excellent understanding of flower care, processing, and seasonal availability. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail with a refined aesthetic sensibility. Physical ability to lift and carry floral supplies, buckets, and dcor items (up to 50 pounds), stand for extended periods, bend, climb ladders, and assist with installations. Weekend and holiday availability based on event schedules.

Schedule:

Full-time preferred; flexible scheduling based on business and event needs. Availability for weekends, evenings, and holidays required during peak seasons and special events.
