Full Job Description Jones The Florist:
Floral and Plant designer
Purpose Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for filling/designing customer orders fresh, plant, funeral, and otherwise. The ideal candidate will be expected to maintain an organized and clean workspace. Must be comfortable working on a computer to process & print out orders. Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently. This person will be scheduled Sunday, Monday, and one more day each week for a total of 12 hours per week. Must work holidays and have an open schedule during these times. Our top holidays are Valentine's Day and Mother's Day. Our busy period will require additional hours and includes the two weeks leading up to each of these holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's day, some years, Easter, Admin Day, Mother's Day, and Girlfriends Day.
Responsibility Summary:
The following is an outline of this position's major areas of responsibility: Efficiently and productively design floral bouquets, plant arrangements, gourmet baskets, etc. to the specifications of our customers and the policies of this organization. Maintain an organized and clean workstation and department Record low levels of supplies, hard goods, and fresh & plant components and report to the manager for replenishment Assist in production preparation - set up containers, green containers, etc. as deemed necessary by the design or operations team Continually strive to improve the Jones The Florist design department Communicate and interact with other team members in a harmonious way to promote a strong team working relationship Be available and willing to help in any Jones The Florist department when necessary.
Education/Experience:
Two years of retail floral design experience required. Success in this position will depend upon your ability to maintain focus on the goals established and to produce arrangements at a rate that exceeds goals while maintaining quality standards and customer satisfaction.
