Job Description
Looking for an floral designer to work in a busy florist and gift shop in Fredericksburg. Knowledge of florist industry and experience with artificial and fresh florals a plus. Willing to train the right person if you have not worked in a florist setting before. Able to handle high activity and multi task. Must be willing to chip in where needed and not afraid to get your hands dirty. Strong computer skills a must! Must have NO lift restrictions. Must be able to work rotating Saturdays. Must be able to work well with others in a small tight space. Some unpleasant things you have to do are trash, cleaning buckets, sweeping floors, unpacking flowers, lifting buckets with water and florals in them, and putting up inventory on a ladder, standing for 8 + hours. Typical 9 hour days (8am- 5pm shifts) with the exceptions of the week of Valentine's Day , the week of Mother's Day and the week before Christmas. Overtime is required during these weeks. No time off during these holidays, as we are a retail store. Also no long weekends off during peak season of May and October.
