JOB SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer at Traders Point Christian Church will be critical in creating visually compelling designs that enhance our weekend gatherings, events, and church communications. This individual will be responsible for executing the visual direction provided by the Design Director by producing high-quality social graphics, print materials, merchandise and apparel, and other digital mediums. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented professional passionate about using visual art to inspire and connect people with God.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
DUTIES/PRIMARY JOB PRODUCTS
Collaborate with the Design Team to develop and execute digital and print materials for weekend gatherings, ongoing ministry support, special events, and marketing campaigns. Ensure all visual content aligns with the church's branding and message. Stay current with design trends and software advancements to improve visual content quality and effectiveness continually. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Design print assets like books for small group studies, posters and banners for lobby decor, and other marketing materials. Design graphics packages for social and other digital marketing materials. Brainstorm and develop concepts to improve and innovate the way we reach people through our ministry partners. Possesses a creative and imaginative aptitude and awareness of current trends in the visual arts and understands project lead times, deadlines and production capabilities, all of which impact the end result of communicating the Gospel in a clear, concise and creative way. Assists in the design and production of special event design pieces for all-church events. Perform other duties as required. Job description is subject to change based on the organization/department's needs.
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Art & Design Lead. Works closely with the Marketing and Communications department.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Canva). Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and composition. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with a positive, team-oriented attitude. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong, creative and effective problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Experience with motion graphics and animation is a plus. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Ability to have difficult conversations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, a related field, or equivalent experience. A strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative projects, including digital and print designs. Church or agency experience a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel or squat. Must be able to work various hours to accommodate events occasionally. Ability to travel locally as needed.
