Hourly and Temporary, Non-Exempt Position Summary The Office of Student Engagement Publicity Assistant/Graphic Designer is responsible for the design, production, and promotion of materials to publicize student association and Student Engagement activities and events. This includes managing the growing need for social media as a means to stay connected with the virtual and hybrid AACC communities. Applicants must have proficient graphic design knowledge, including understanding of how to use specific programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva. Applicants must have experience in social media and web page management. In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility. Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As a temporary employee you are entitled to sick and safe leave benefits. Job Duties and Responsibilities The Graphic Designer manages all requests from student clubs and organizations, as well as general materials for the Office of Student Engagement on the whole for promotional materials, social media posts, webpage and creates guides and maintain records of protocol.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. Graphic design knowledge, including understanding of how to use specific programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canvas. Must have experience in social media management, experience in web page management
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree or higher preferred.
