We don't do billboards. Growth comes from repeat customers and referrals, not advertising, so the quality and speed of our design work directly drives sales. The role We need a designer who can turn a customer's idea into an accurate, sellable mockup fast, and then turn that mockup into a production-ready file our shop can actually cut, print, or fabricate. What you'll do Create design concepts and customer-facing mockups for signage jobs (channel letters, illuminated cabinet signs, banners, vehicle/vessel wraps, yard signs, wayfinding) — often same-day, to support sales quotes Convert approved concepts into production-ready vector files for the shop (cutting, routing, large-format printing) Work directly with sales/estimating to scope what's visually and technically feasible before a quote goes out Build dimensioned, to-scale layouts customers and installers can both read Flag when a design may run into permitting or code issues (size, illumination, setback) before it gets to production Keep a clean, reusable library of templates and past art files Occasional marketing materials for Budget Signs itself (truck graphics, social/web assets) What you need Strong Adobe Illustrator skills (required); Photoshop useful Comfortable prepping vector art for large-format print, vinyl cutting, and CNC routing — this is the part that separates a sign designer from a general graphic designer Can produce accurate, to-scale layouts, not just "looks right" Solid communication — you'll talk to customers and the sales team directly, not just take a brief and disappear Can handle several small jobs at once under real deadlines Portfolio requiredPay:
