Overview:
WRAL News isn t just another newsroom-we set the standard for excellence in broadcast journalism. We break stories, push creative boundaries, and craft visually stunning, high-impact news content that keeps our audience informed and engaged. Now, we re looking for a News Daily Graphics Artist to join our powerhouse creative team. If you have the talent, vision, and drive to create bold, compelling visuals, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and produce daily graphics for broadcast, digital, and social platforms, including infographics, maps, motion graphics, and animations. Create high-impact motion graphics using After Effects to enhance WRAL s award-winning storytelling. Collaborate with reporters, producers, and newsroom leadership to transform raw data into compelling, easy-to-understand visual stories. Ensure brand consistency by maintaining WRAL s bold, innovative, and engaging visual identity. Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-energy newsroom environment.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in graphic design, motion graphics, or broadcast design. Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator). Experience with Blender or Xpression is a major plus. Strong design instincts-typography, color, composition, and animation that enhance storytelling. Ability to translate complex news and data into engaging, viewer-friendly graphics. A team player who thrives in a high-energy, collaborative environment. Passion for news, design, and pushing creative limits.

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk and using a computer. Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment (e.g., monitors, cameras, or other tools) up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interaction and collaboration with the team. Manual dexterity to operate a computer, design software, and other necessary tools effectively. Visual acuity to review and adjust graphics and designs on-screen for high-quality output.
