Growing local Omaha business is seeking a full time Graphic Designer \ Production Specialist. The perfect candidate must be very detailed and a motivated designer who thinks outside the box! The position will also have some production duties including operating large format printers, laminators, and other equipment. We are looking for a long term employee that we can offer the opportunity of learning all aspects of a sign business. This employee has to have an upbeat and positive attitude. We require that you have reasonable means of transportation and the ability to work between the hours of 8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M (may vary at times). If you are a fast learner, have an eye for detail, are creative, can follow a through job through all stages from order to delivery and have the ability to focus on multiple projects at once, we are looking for you!
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Thorough knowledge of sign industry substrates, media and products Ensure quality standards are maintained when producing artwork Provide assistance for sales, customer service and production. Confirm orders are accurate for sizing, placement locations, processes and garment types. Maintain working knowledge of all areas of production, and order entry, as it pertains to art and production Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others Performs other related duties as assigned Create designs and proofs for vinyl cutting, embroidery, laser, printing and router and general design needs Create production ready artwork (Create, craft and modify customer artwork into production ready artwork.) Collaborate with team to ensure best methods of production Juggle various projects and handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment Maintain production schedule Operate plotter, printers, laminator and other sign related equipment to produce client jobs Operate the laser and possibly the router and other equipment as needed Assist with vinyl graphic installation, vehicle wraps, sign installation, and window graphic installation, as needed (training provided) Conduct financial transactions for job deposits and final payments, if needed
KEY EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES 1-2
years of professional design experience or schooling preferred Proficient typing, keyboarding and file maintenance skills Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to build and maintain a professional relationship with diverse customer base Creative problem solving skills Self-motivated, organized Strong communication skills including verbal and written Strong spelling, grammar, and editing skills Professional upbeat attitude Sharp attention to detail Keen multi-tasking abilities Ability to work independently and as an integral team member Retail experience preferred, but not required Experience with vehicle graphics and applying vinyl to many types of substrates Mechanical skills and the ability to use small hand tools is a plus Positive attitude with strong, dependable and honest work ethic Valid Driver's License.
