Position Summary McGuire Bearing Company is seeking a Junior Articulate Storyline & Graphic Designer to support the development of engaging, visually appealing learning materials and e-learning experiences. This role is focused on providing design support for training and organizational development initiatives. This role is ideal for an early-career designer who has a strong foundation in graphic design and is interested in expanding their skills in e-learning, instructional design, multimedia, and Articulate Storyline. The designer will work closely with the Training Design Specialist, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and trainers to create and maintain learning materials that are clear, engaging, and aligned with learning objectives. The successful candidate will be curious, organized, receptive to feedback, and eager to learn. Check us out at [link] Responsibilities Design & Learning Material Development Create and format visually appealing training materials, including presentations, infographics, manuals, job aids, and other learning resources. Apply established design standards, templates, and brand guidelines to learning materials. Support the development and maintenance of e-learning courses in Articulate Storyline. Learn and apply basic interactive design techniques, including quizzes, knowledge checks, and simple simulations. Translate technical or complex information into clear, visually engaging learning content. Assist with updates and revisions to existing training materials and courses. Graphic Design Create graphics, illustrations, icons, and other visual elements to support learning content. Use Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign. Apply fundamental principles of layout, typography, color, composition, and visual hierarchy. Edit and prepare images and other visual assets for use in learning materials. Maintain consistency with established branding and visual standards. E-Learning & Multimedia Develop foundational skills in Articulate Storyline and e-learning development. Support the integration of video, audio, animations, and other multimedia elements. Assist with testing and maintaining e-learning courses. Learn and apply basic principles of e-learning usability and accessibility. Support the publishing and testing of courses within the LMS. Collaboration & Communication Work collaboratively with the Training Design Specialist, instructional designers, subject matter experts, and trainers. Ask questions and seek clarification to understand project requirements and learning objectives. Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into final deliverables. Communicate project status, questions, challenges, and potential delays in a timely manner. Build positive working relationships with team members and project stakeholders. Quality Assurance Review materials for accuracy, consistency, formatting, functionality, and adherence to established standards. Test e-learning courses to identify design, functionality, or content issues. Make revisions based on feedback and quality checks. Maintain organized files, assets, and version history. Learning & Professional Development Develop proficiency in Articulate Storyline, e-learning development, and multimedia design. Seek opportunities to expand graphic design and learning design skills. Stay familiar with emerging design and e-learning tools and techniques. Demonstrate initiative in learning new skills and applying feedback. Location & Commitments This is an onsite position in our Portland, OR corporate offices. This is a full time position. Hours are generally 8am - 5pm PT. QualificationsRequired Foundational experience or education in graphic design, visual design, e-learning, communications, or a related field. Basic understanding of graphic design principles. Strong attention to detail and visual consistency. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Receptive to feedback and comfortable making revisions. Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and skills. Portfolio demonstrating graphic design or visual communication work. Preferred Familiarity with Articulate Storyline or another e-learning authoring tool. Experience with an LMS. Familiarity with Google Slides or similar presentation tools. Basic understanding of instructional design or adult learning principles. Experience creating training, educational, or business materials. Familiarity with accessibility/WCAG principles. Experience working with video, audio, animation, or other multimedia. Experience in the bearing industry or a related industrial/manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Instructional Design, or a related field.
