Job Description

Blackberg Group is seeking a talented Mid- to Senior Graphic Designer to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in San Diego, CA. The Graphic Designer will develop high-quality print, digital, multimedia, presentation, and visual communications products supporting public affairs, leadership communications, internal communications, events, and other DHA initiatives. The ideal candidate is a versatile designer who can move comfortably between traditional graphic design, executive presentation development, digital content, infographics, and multimedia. This role requires strong technical production skills, attention to brand consistency and accessibility, and the ability to translate complex healthcare and Government information into polished, engaging visual products. The Designer will work closely with Government stakeholders, develop concepts and mockups, incorporate feedback, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and maintain organized files and visual assets. Responsibilities Conceptualize, design, and produce print and digital communications materials, including: Brochures; Flyers; Posters and banners; Infographics; Fact sheets; Newsletters; Annual reports; Certificates; Event programs; and more. Create and update executive-level PowerPoint presentations, briefing templates, and visual aids. Design social media graphics, web banners, digital advertising, and other online content. Develop motion graphics and animations and provide video-editing support as needed. Perform photography, scanning, photo editing, retouching, and image preparation. Translate complex information and data into accessible, visually compelling graphics. Follow DHA and DoD branding requirements, including approved logos, colors, typography, and visual standards. Ensure products comply with Section 508 accessibility requirements . Prepare technically correct print-ready files, including CMYK production files, appropriate bleeds and crop marks, and 300-DPI imagery. Incorporate stakeholder feedback accurately and efficiently while maintaining established production timelines. Maintain organized project files and Government asset libraries. Participate in regular meetings and coordinate with communications, public affairs, and leadership stakeholders. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum 3 years of professional graphic design experience, including experience in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint. Strong portfolio demonstrating work across branding, infographics, print collateral, and digital media. Strong understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, image preparation, and production standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to tailor visual communications to different audiences. Strong interpersonal and client-service skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities simultaneously. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an integrated team. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to successfully complete the required Government background investigation. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of an integrated team. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA). DoD, military, federal healthcare, or other federal Government design experience. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or After Effects. Experience with motion graphics, animation, or video editing. Photography and videography experience. Experience designing executive-level presentations and briefings for senior Government leadership. Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and accessible document production. Pay:
$70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
