The role We're hiring one person to own our Shopify store end to end. Not a marketer who "has used Shopify," and not a generalist web designer we'd need to walk through the admin. Someone who already knows the platform deeply and can be handed a goal instead of instructions. You'll be the only person doing this work, which means real ownership: you decide how the theme is structured, how product pages are built, and what gets tested next. If you like having your hands on the actual store rather than writing tickets for someone else, this is a good fit. What you'll own Product pages — building, optimizing, and maintaining them. Layout, media, variant logic, metafields, structured content. Parts and fitment pages — building out our parts catalog in a way that's browsable, searchable, and actually converts. Compatibility logic, cross-sell, collection structure. Theme work — Liquid edits, custom sections and blocks, new templates, responsive fixes, page speed. Conversion rate optimization — identifying where we're leaking revenue, proposing tests, running them, and reporting on what happened. Web design — turning a rough idea into a page that looks good and works on mobile, without needing a separate designer for every request. Back-end and admin — collections, navigation, metaobjects, app configuration and cleanup, discounts, checkout settings, anything else the store needs. What you need to have Multiple years working directly in Shopify , day to day, not occasionally. Liquid. You can read an unfamiliar theme, find what you need, and change it without breaking it. Comfortable with sections, blocks, snippets, and schema. HTML, CSS, and enough JavaScript to build custom front-end behavior and debug what's already there. Metafields and metaobjects. You've used them to build structured content, not just to store a stray text field. Real CRO experience. You can explain a test you ran, what you expected, what actually happened, and what you did next. Analytics literacy — GA4 or equivalent. You can find where users drop off instead of guessing. Independence. You'll get context and priorities from us. You should not need training on the platform itself.
