A Product Designer is responsible for the design of a new product, or redesign of an existing product. Responsible for the aesthetics of the product but also designing how it will work, defining the problem and solving it. May be responsible for producing low-fidelity mock ups, prototypes for validation through user testing and crafting the final product accordingly.

Job Description

Support production and fabrication on an ongoing basis including "hands on" troubleshooting of production equipment, products & processes to identify and resolve issues efficiently Collaborate with owners to develop new & improve existing products Research and technology includes: staying abreast of existing and emerging technology that will improve efficiency in product development and production Develop & design development schedule for potential projects. Prepare concept drawings, models and digital prototypes of new products as required for evaluation. Prepare quantity takeoffs for designs and work with staff to estimate time for projects. Provide documentation & digital drawings of existing products Provide 3d images, models, animations, and specification data for products as needed for Marketing & Advertising Adapt Big John products to customer equipment Maintain data files in a retrievable file structure including product archives in a retrievable file structure. Monitor product consistency and adjust current drawings to better align with fabrication realities Collaborate with Owners to measure jigs and dies to determine causes of changes in product tolerances over time.
