Job Description

My client is a fast-growing fintech company revolutionizing financial planning. Their mission is to empower people to live more enriched lives by delivering a new standard of advice. By removing asset minimums, they provide holistic planning that goes far beyond investments to address every way money impacts life. To achieve this, they leverage a "human-plus-tech" approach, combining the expertise of CFP® professionals with cutting-edge AI and automation. This model allows my client to integrate advice into members' entire financial picture-all for an affordable, flat membership fee. Overview My client's Design team is looking to add an exceptionally talented Staff Visual Designer to shape how the brand comes to life across experiences. They recently launched a 0-to-1 mobile app that established a new visual direction, but that was just step one. Now, this individual contributor role will help define, scale, and actualize this aesthetic across the entire brand ecosystem. You'll set the standard for visual craft by creating thoughtful, distinctive, customer-centered work and influencing creative direction across the organization, ensuring every touchpoint reflects a cohesive, high-quality design language. This is a big opportunity for a designer who thrives on autonomy and wants to put their fingerprint on a fast-growing tech company. You won't just be receiving top-down decisions; you will act as a strategic partner to the Head of Design, actively co-creating the visual language that builds deep trust with prospective members. As an embedded partner working closely with Marketing and Growth Product Managers, you'll be a trailblazer-taking an initial vision and building it into a world-class, comprehensive design system. Responsibilities Lead the visual direction and execution of high-impact design initiatives across my client's marketing ecosystem, including design systems, websites, presentations, emails, creative execution across integrated marketing campaigns, advertising, in-product growth initiatives, and a broad range of marketing and graphic design assets. Design best-in-class marketing web experiences that balance storytelling, usability, accessibility, and business performance. Own the visual design system for the typography, color, layout, motion, and detail that make designs unmistakably representative of my client's brand. Partner closely with Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Product Design, Engineering, and external agencies to bring integrated experiences to life. Develop campaign and communication toolkits and scalable frameworks that replace reliance on external agencies and improve creative consistency across all channels. Translate performance signals into impactful visual designs and high-converting 0-to-1 surfaces. Design and implement AI-assisted creative workflows, building the asset pipelines that let the entire team operate at a higher velocity. Assist with in-product design initiatives when necessary to ensure the team meets roadmap deadlines. Confidently articulate design decisions in cross-functional design critiques with stakeholders and leadership. Qualifications Online portfolio required for consideration. An outstanding online portfolio showcasing exceptional visual craft, brand systems, responsive web, and work across growth and marketing surfaces. 7+ years of hands-on experience in visual, brand, and web design at a senior or staff level for consumer digital products. Exceptional visual design instincts combined with a proven ability to think in scalable systems and build reusable components rather than just one-off designs. Deep expertise designing responsive web experiences and a strong understanding of modern web capabilities, accessibility, and performance considerations. Actively leverage generative AI as a real part of your creative workflow to boost efficiency and explore concepts without sacrificing the quality and judgment of your craft. Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud. A self-starter and collaborative partner who thrives working with product managers, takes feedback well, and proactively navigates tradeoffs to deliver cohesive creative solutions. Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with the ability to advocate for design decisions cross-functionally. Adept at navigating ambiguity, incorporating feedback, and embracing continuous brand evolution. Exposure to A/B testing, CRO, or growth experimentation is a plus. Experience in lifestyle or wellness is a plus. Benefits $175,000-$200,000 annual salary, determined by experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Salary ranges are based on current market data. Up to 7% annual performance bonus. Equity. Flexible PTO. Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with employer match, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, and paid parental leave. Annual reimbursement for certifications and continuing education. Work from anywhere in the U.S.
