Overview Tuff Jug is a fast-growing manufacturer of fluid-transfer containers and accessories serving the powersports, automotive, agricultural and outdoor markets. We design, manufacture and sell our products from our facility in Nampa, Idaho. We are looking for a recent mechanical-engineering graduate to join our product-development team. This is an entry-level, CAD-focused position working on existing products, product improvements and future product concepts. Position Overview The Mechanical Design Engineer will create and maintain accurate 3D models, assemblies and production drawings for Tuff Jug products. You will work closely with company leadership, product development and manufacturing personnel to turn concepts and revisions into production-ready designs. This is a product-design and CAD position. It is not a plant-maintenance or manufacturing-process engineering role. Responsibilities Create and modify 3D parts and assemblies using SolidWorks Produce accurate 2D production drawings with dimensions, tolerances and specifications Develop CAD models for new products, accessories, components and product improvements Maintain drawings, revision histories and organized product-design files Update existing designs based on testing, manufacturing feedback and product-development decisions Assist with product measurements, prototypes, fit checks and design validation Design components with injection molding and blow molding requirements in mind Create and maintain bills of materials and related product documentation Work with tooling vendors and internal manufacturing personnel to resolve design questions Review designs for fit, function, manufacturability and assembly Protect confidential product designs and intellectual property Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. SolidWorks certification Experience creating parts and assemblies in SolidWorks or comparable professional CAD software Ability to create and interpret detailed engineering drawings Understanding of mechanical-design fundamentals, tolerances and basic GD&T Strong attention to detail and file organization Ability to receive feedback and make accurate design revisions Clear written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working in both an office and active manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications Internship, capstone or project experience involving physical product design Familiarity with injection-molded or blow-molded plastic components Understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly Experience with prototyping, 3D printing or product testing Familiarity with engineering change and drawing-revision processes What Success Looks Like A successful candidate will quickly become dependable at producing accurate CAD models and drawings, maintaining organized design files and completing revisions with minimal errors. As experience grows, this position can develop into greater ownership of new-product design, prototyping, testing and production-ready product development.

Pay:

$58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
