Job Description
The Senior Product Design Engineer will provide technical leadership in the design, development, and sustainment of electrical products. This role is a hands‑on technical contributor responsible for executing product designs, supporting manufacturing, and driving continuous improvement across existing and new platforms. The Senior Design Engineer works cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales, and Customers to deliver reliable, cost‑effective electrical product solutions that meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements. This position will also provide mentorship of other engineers and technical staff. Design and develop electrical products from concept through production release. Generate and review engineering calculations, CAD models, drawings, specifications, and bills of material. Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities; analyze results and implement design improvements. Assist with product qualification, life testing, and compliance testing. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable, repeatable, and cost‑effective (DFM/DFA). Provide engineering support for production issues, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Participate in value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives. Support customer applications by reviewing requirements, evaluating feasibility, and assisting with technical solutions. Collaborate effectively with Quality, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to resolve technical issues and support product launches. Participate in annual budget discussions and cost reduction projects. Mentor and coach junior and mid‑level engineers, promoting best practices in design, documentation, and problem solving. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 6+ years of engineering experience that includes electrical product/component design.
