Summary

Through proficient use of in-house 3-D modeling programs the Senior Designer will be responsible and accountable for creating models, prints, and illustrations for releasing proprietary products. Using a strong understanding of the principles of revision control and product life cycles, the Senior Designer will support engineering, sales and service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (others may be assigned):

Create large complex 3-D models and prints using

CREO/PDM

essentials.

Experience designing cast and injection molded components, with a strong understanding of DFM principles, tooling considerations, material properties, and production constraints.

Experience designing sheet metal, fabricated, and welded components/assemblies, with a strong understanding of DFM principles, tooling considerations, material properties, and production constraints.

Utilize Windchill to store and control engineering models, drawings, and related documents.

Import, modify and manipulate large complex customer models and prints.

Fit-up analysis with customer models and EMP proprietary products.

Release prints using in house ECN system.

Promote and revise large complex models and prints.

Interface with suppliers, customers, and internal engineering during release process.

Provide technical support to department projects through, design, CAD analysis, and test support.

Specify and participate in testing, fabrication, and assembly of advanced products.

Independently work on and solve complex design tasks.

Create presentations on critical design issues.

Uses GD&T and DFMEA regularly.

Uses basic DFM techniques.

Education and/or Experience Associate of Science in Engineering or Technical field and 5 relevant years of design CAD related experience or any combination of education or experience.
