Position Summary The Body Electronics Design & Release Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, validation, release, and production launch of body electronic control modules, sensors, actuators, and electromechanical systems for next-generation electric vehicles. This role serves as the engineering owner (DRE) for assigned body electronics commodities, partnering with Tier 1 suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver components that meet cost, quality, timing, and performance objectives. Responsibilities include leading technical reviews, supporting supplier sourcing, overseeing validation and manufacturing launches, resolving production issues, and ensuring compliance with automotive safety standards. The ideal candidate brings deep experience developing body electronics from concept through production while driving continuous product improvements using structured engineering and problem-solving methodologies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline + 8+ years of automotive Body Electronics engineering experience. Proven experience as a Design & Release Engineer (DRE) for Body Electronics components. End-to-end ownership of body electronic ECUs through concept, design, supplier sourcing, validation, launch, and production support. Experience with body electronics such as: Body Control Modules (BCM), Steering Column Control Modules, Passive Entry / Keyless Entry, Electronic Parking Brake, Door & Window Modules, Lighting Systems, HVAC Control Modules, TPMS, Interior Switches, Sensors & Actuators. Strong experience working directly with Tier 1 suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams. Experience supporting prototype builds, manufacturing launches, and production issue resolution. Knowledge of
DFMEA, ISO
26262, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and ECU development. Previous OEM experience (VW, Stellantis, Ford, GM, Rivian, Lucid, Tesla, etc.). Experience with both hardware and embedded software development. Familiarity with CAE and electrical simulation tools.
