This role involves designing and adapting custom mechanical solutions based on customer specifications, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and quality across our liquid-cooling portfolio. This role involves designing and adapting custom mechanical solutions based on customer specifications, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and quality across our liquid-cooling portfolio. What You Will Do?
- Perform detailed mechanical design, analysis, verification, and documentation for New Product Development liquid-cooling systems.
- Develop custom configurations and packaging solutions to meet customer performance and installation requirements.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and full BOMs according to company engineering standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers on component selection and manufacturability.
- Interpret mechanical schematics, specifications, and customer documentation to define engineering requirements.
- Design sheet metal, weldments, plastics, tubing, and mechanical assemblies for new and existing products.
- Support cross-functional efforts with electrical, controls, manufacturing, project management, and quality teams.
- Assist with sustaining engineering, design standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Prioritize workload effectively to meet changing project demands. What qualifications will make you successful?
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years or more of mechanical engineering experience in product design or thermal-management systems.
- Expert proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation, including GD&T.
- Experience with sheet metal, weldments, plastics, tubing, and mechanical packaging.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, schematics, and industry standards.
- Strong engineering fundamentals and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a dynamic environment. Preferred Skills
- Experience with liquid-cooling systems, heat exchangers, pumps, or thermal-management hardware.
- Familiarity with DFM, fabrication processes, and manufacturing methods.
- Knowledge of UL, CE, ASME, ISO, or similar standards.
- Experience with New Product Development or configurable product environments.
- Understanding of Lean or continuous-improvement methodologies.
- Experience with CFD, FEA, or thermal analysis tools.
