Honeycomb Trailer, a lightweight, modular teardrop‑trailer startup focused on Made‑in‑USA manufacturing and smart design. Role Overview Honeycomb Trailer is looking for a motivated Engineering Intern or Co‑op to support the design and development of our next‑generation trailer systems. You'll work directly with the founder to model components in SolidWorks , assist with engineering problem‑solving, and contribute to real production‑ready designs. This is a hands‑on role where your work will immediately influence prototypes and manufacturing decisions. Key Responsibilities Create and refine SolidWorks models for trailer frames, assemblies, and modular components. Support engineering problem‑solving through iterative design, testing, and documentation. Conduct research on materials, components, and manufacturing methods. Assist with BOM creation, part drawings, and design revisions. Collaborate on prototype development and shop‑floor improvements as needed. Help streamline engineering workflows and documentation for manufacturability. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience with SolidWorks (coursework, personal projects, or prior internships). Strong problem‑solving ability and willingness to tackle open‑ended challenges. Solid research skills — ability to find, compare, and evaluate technical information. Basic understanding of mechanical design, fabrication, and materials. Ability to work independently in a startup environment. Nice‑to‑Have Interest in trailers or RVs, outdoor products and camping. Experience with CAD assemblies. Familiarity with manufacturing processes (CNC, welding, composites, etc.). What You'll Gain Real‑world engineering experience with immediate impact.
