Accentuate Staffing is working with an established industrial technology organization in the Raleigh area to hire a Junior Mechanical Designer. This growth-minded opportunity supports the development and delivery of engineered equipment, giving the designer visible impact across product documentation, prototype evaluation, production support, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings early-career mechanical drafting or engineering-support experience, strong 3D CAD capability, and disciplined attention to drawings and technical records. The role will create and revise models and documentation, maintain product and project data, support testing and cost-reduction work, and collaborate with engineering, product, purchasing, assembly, and testing teams.

Responsibilities:

Support design engineers by creating and revising 3D CAD models, mechanical drawings, part records, and related engineering content. Prepare and maintain fabrication files, assembly files, operating manuals, specification sheets, and other controlled technical documentation. Maintain accurate product, project, vendor, and service information in cloud-based systems and internal databases. Assist with small design assignments, product standardization, cost analysis, and design-for-cost improvement initiatives. Build or support prototypes, test designs for performance and functionality, and organize specifications and test results. Create pneumatic diagrams and incorporate build-phase design changes in collaboration with assembly and other cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting or bachelor degree in engineering, manufacturing, robotics, or a related technical discipline. One to three years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting, CAD design, engineering support, or technical documentation. Proficiency with 3D CAD software; SolidWorks is strongly preferred, with comparable platforms considered. Demonstrated ability to create and interpret engineering drawings, models, assemblies, and technical documentation accurately. Hands-on experience entering and maintaining structured data, with strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills and the ability to learn new cloud systems.
