Trend & Packaging Designer Burlington Stores - 3.2 Burlington, NJ Job Details Full-time $80,000 - $105,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Research Full Job Description Position Overview The Trend & Packaging Designer is responsible for creating best-in-class trend development and packaging solutions that elevate Burlington's private label brands across Beauty, Home, and additional categories. This role supports the Creative Director in developing cohesive brand identities, packaging systems, and trend-driven creative that strengthen brand perception, improve in-store navigation, and deliver an elevated customer experience across more than 1,000 stores. This designer will contribute to the development of brand identities, logos, packaging layouts, visual systems, structural packaging considerations, photography direction, copy placement, production-ready artwork, and trend storytelling. They will play a key role in identifying emerging consumer, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle trends and translating those insights into commercially viable packaging graphics, prints, patterns, and visual assets that vendors can successfully execute in production. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and an exceptional designer—someone with a strong eye for branding, typography, color, composition, and trend who can transform inspiration into distinctive, ownable creative solutions that are scalable across product categories. A Day in the Life Packaging Design, Brand Development & Trend Translation Design branding and packaging for multiple private label brands, from concept through production. Develop brand identities, including logos, typography, color palettes, packaging architecture, and visual systems. Translate brand strategy and emerging consumer trends into compelling packaging, graphics, patterns, color stories, and other original visual assets. Research trends across beauty, home, fashion, retail, and consumer culture, transforming insights into distinctive, ownable creative. Create packaging that balances strong shelf impact, brand consistency, seasonal relevance, merchant objectives, and production requirements. Develop layouts, typography, color systems, imagery, iconography, and claims that align with Burlington's brand standards. Packaging Systems & Production Build scalable packaging systems across SKUs, product types, and categories while maintaining consistency and accuracy. Prepare production-ready mechanical artwork, ensuring compliance with dielines, print specifications, regulatory requirements, and vendor standards. Collaborate with merchants and product development to validate product information, sizing, and legal requirements. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Merchandising, Imports/Sourcing, Legal, Production, and the Creative Director to deliver successful trend development abd packaging solutions. Communicate design intent clearly through presentations, mood boards, creative direction, and production guidance. Work with domestic and overseas vendors during artwork development, proofing, press checks, and production to maintain design quality and feasibility. Production & Technical Excellence Produce accurate mechanical files and manufacturable artwork across a variety of print methods, materials, finishes, and substrates. Review proofs, color, materials, and finishes to ensure final packaging meets brand and production standards. Partner with Production on photography, retouching, asset management, and file delivery while proactively contributing creative ideas and process improvements. Process & Project Management Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and creative milestones. Maintain organized files, version control, and project documentation. Continuously improve workflow efficiency through strong communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams. You'll Come With Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design preferred 5-10 years of experience in branding, packaging design, or consumer product design. Strong experience designing retail packaging for beauty, home, lifestyle, fashion, or consumer products.
