Job Description
VIP staffing is Immediately hiring an Industrial Designer for a leading organization in Rio Rancho This is a Direct hire position with a Monday-Thursday 6:30am-4:40pm schedule Pay for this position is $80,000 - $85,000 DOE As an Industrial Designer you will:
- Develop innovative performance concepts for both new lighting and electronic based controls. Coordinate the appearance and functionality of product offering.
- Originates and develops ideas to design the form and function of manufactured products.
- Consults with Engineering, Marketing, Production and Sales to establish design concepts.
- Provide drafting and illustrations of potential products, including intended performance and utility.
- Evaluates design ideas based on factors such as architectural appearance, design functionality, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, manufacturing costs and methods of production.
- Presents design to both Sales and Management to discuss applicability and functionality.
- Controls costs through the efficient and effective utilization of processes, materials, equipment and time.
- Recommends policies and procedures that will result in the timely, accurate and cost-effective projection of engineering and manufacturing documentation.
- Performs at a high level of accuracy, seeking error free work.
- Performs work that is comprehensive in scope and complete in detail.
- Continually seeks new technologies, methods, procedures, and techniques that will result in the timelier and efficient projection of documentation and/or lighting products, design and sales components.
- Maintains a close working relationship with the operations and engineering teams in assuring that operations are not hampered by a lack of instructions or understanding. Industrial Designers must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design or Industrial Engineering
- Experience in lighting product design required
- Familiarity in manufacturing processes
- 5-10 years of experience in the Industrial Design /Development
- Must have proven track record in product development and design
- A knowledge of materials, fabrication, processes, tooling, equipment utilization, and quality control standards common to the lighting industry is required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solid Works programs or equivalent.
