Job Description

Overview:
We are currently seeking a Prototype Studio manager in New York to lead client-facing activities and manage projects from concept to delivery in the packaging and prototyping space. Balance strong PM, design/DFM insights, and accurate estimating with excellent client communication and cross-functional collaboration
Key Responsibilities:
  • Be point of contact for clients; lead kickoff, updates, reviews, and handoffs; translate needs into briefs; manage expectations and change orders.
  • Create and maintain project plans, timelines, resources, and risk mitigation; ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee prototyping workflow; ensure functional and aesthetic targets are met; coordinate suppliers.
  • Review packaging artwork, dielines, materials; advise on manufacturability and cost implications; ensure brand and regulatory alignment.
  • Build accurate estimates for prototypes, tooling, and packaging; track actuals vs. plan; manage contingencies.
  • Enforce QA/QC, safety, and sustainability standards; uphold data confidentiality and professional conduct.
  • Identify process improvements; mentor junior staff; promote best practices in
PM, DFM/DFP.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in prototyping, packaging, or related field; PM/PMO experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe software programs: Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
  • Capability with Microsoft software: Enterprise Explorer (EE) and Excell for estimating.
  • Understanding of offset, flex o graphic printing, and all evolving print technologies.
  • Ability to quickly safe and share PDF files and related images.
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with estimating, budgeting, and cost modeling.
  • Familiarity with prototyping methods and packaging workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial/Packaging Design, Engineering, or PM.
