As an engineering intern, you will be key team member to drive new acoustic solutions and support various customer application.

SUMMARY:

As a high-energy, hands-on Design Engineer, you will work on the front-end design and development of new products that meet customer and business needs. You will proactively identify opportunities to bring value to the customer while driving profitable growth for PUI Audio. You will work with cross disciplinary teams to build innovative solutions and solve complex engineering problems. Lead new product development, sample development, and New Product Introductions. Support engineering evaluation and implementation of product and supplier changes for released products. Support resolution of complex customer issues related to product design, technology selection, and application challenges. Provide engineering expertise for root cause investigations involving new products, prototypes, and significant design-related failures. Lead qualification activities for new products and major design revisions. Support qualification and transition projects for released products as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Develop electrical architecture and circuits for new products, evaluation boards, and prototypes including component selection, schematic, layout and compliance requirements Test new products and support various customer requests by developing necessary procedures, processes, equipment using analytical methods. Design solutions to transform customer vision into reality and evaluate design against system specifications Build product specification, 3D model, prototype, application guide, and promotional document for new product introduction.

  • Create application notes, training material, white papers, and specifications for new products to effectively communicate product features and functionality. Helps resolve product issues at the customer and in the field by working with the customer and sales team. Conducts complex root cause analysis and identification. Approves corrective action authorization.
  • Provides technical input for product pricing, costing, and margin evaluations.
  • Provides technical support for released-product lifecycle management, obsolescence planning, and product transitions.
  • Supports ERP setup activities by providing technical specifications and engineering data for new products.

Manage supplier relationships for new product development, sample requests, and quotations of new and specialty products. Assist in research and development, analysis of market, competitive product analysis and recommend new product ideas.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology or Electrical and Computer Science Engineering or Acoustic Engineering)
  • Master's degree is a plus
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in acoustics/electrical system design and modeling
  • Analyze electromagnetic, dynamical, and acoustical properties of the system using analytical tools
  • Expertise in EE, circuit, and signal processing
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Hands-on experience in lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, audio analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers
  • Proven experience with failure analysis of field returns.
  • Experience in providing customer support and dealing with challenging customer issues
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple programs Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating working relationships with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
  • Effective Communication Skills including Report Writing, business correspondence, technical procedure manuals, and presentation skills. Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) Self-motivated, strong customer-focused behavior
  • Effective problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of SW drivers, Digital signal processing (DSP) preferred
  • Experience working in the validation and characterization of audio amplifier, haptics modules including failure analysis, DOEs, and production data statistical reviews.
  • Good understanding of audio/acoustic design practices for design for manufacturing Familiarity with scripting/programming language such as Verilog, C, Python, MATLAB or similar Six Sigma trained, Experience with statistical analysis, Greenbelt certified
