Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lithium Battery Product Engineering Designer with strong 3D CAD expertise and an electromechanical engineering background to support the design, development, and commercialization of advanced lithium-ion battery systems. This role is responsible for creating innovative, manufacturable, and compliant battery pack designs, integrating electrical, mechanical, and thermal systems into robust product solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop lithium-ion battery modules and packs, including enclosures, interconnects, busbars, and mounting systems Create detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies Generate 2D drawings, GD&T, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation Collaborate with electrical engineers on cell selection, BMS integration, and wiring architecture Perform thermal and structural design considerations Support prototype builds, testing, and validation Ensure compliance with UL, IEC, and NFPA standards Work with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFA principles are met Manage engineering changes and product lifecycle documentation Participate in supplier selection and evaluation
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering 3-8+ years of relevant experience Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling is a must Experience designing lithium-ion battery packs Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes Familiarity with electrical integration and BMS systems Knowledge of safety and compliance standards
Preferred:
Experience with thermal simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL) Background in energy storage systems or EV batteries Experience with sheet metal, plastics, and injection molding Familiarity with IP ratings and environmental protection design Experience supporting
UL 9540 / UL 1973 / UL 2580
compliance Key Skills Electromechanical design integration 3D modeling and drawing standards Problem-solving and root cause analysis Cross-functional collaboration Attention to detail Work Environment & Requirements Frequent travel to customer sites (regional or national). Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs). Work in industrial, data center, or outdoor environments as needed. May require occasional after-hours or on-call support.
