Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Design Managerto lead our talented design team. This role is responsible for overseeing the entire design process, from concept to execution, ensuring the delivery of high-quality workplace design solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial interiors, space planning, furniture specification, and project management. Additionally, they will provide mentorship, maintain client relationships, and collaborate with internal and external partners to drive the company's design vision. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership & Strategy Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of workplace design projects. Develop innovative and functional space plans, layouts, and furniture specifications based on client needs and industry best practices. Ensure all designs align with company brand standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines (ADA, building codes, ergonomic standards). Review and approve design presentations, drawings, and specifications. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging workplace design technologies. Actively participate in the Interior Design community through networking events, industry organizations such as IIDA, and other professional engagement opportunities, including occasional after-hours and weekend events Project & Team Management Oversee the design team and manage multiple projects from concept to completion. Ensure project timelines and budgets are met while maintaining world-class quality. Collaborate with sales teams, project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless project execution. Work with the preconstruction team to develop design service agreements. Maintain a positive and disciplined work environment that promotes teamwork and excellence. Client & Vendor Collaboration Manage client relationships, understanding their workspace requirements to provide tailored solutions. Conduct client presentations and participate in project meetings. Coordinate with furniture manufacturers and suppliers to stay updated on product offerings and innovations. Team Development & Mentorship Lead and mentor the design team, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Establish design standards, processes, and best practices to maintain efficiency and consistency. Foster creativity and professional growth within the design team. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Leadership in a design team/setting perferred. Proven ability to manage a design team and oversee multiple projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of commercial furniture products, finishes, and materials. Proficiency in design software such as Auto
CAD, CET
Designer, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills. Experience working with pre-construction architects, engineers, and other external partners. NCIDQ certification or equivalent.
