Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Designer to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ. Our firm is a growing, healthcare-focused architectural practice of approximately 40-50 professionals. We work on consequential projects for hospitals, health systems, rural healthcare providers, and specialty care organizations throughout Arizona and the surrounding region. Our work includes new hospitals, major renovations and expansions, emergency departments, surgical platforms, imaging, cardiac services, women's services, inpatient units, pharmacies, sterile processing departments, and other technically demanding healthcare environments. The Senior Project Designer leads the design vision, planning, and execution of complex healthcare projects from concept through construction. The Senior Project Designer serves as a design leader, ensuring projects meet aesthetic, functional, regulatory, and budgetary requirements. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership Lead the conceptual and schematic design of healthcare facilities. Support design, development and documentation. Create and present design concepts, renderings, diagrams, and presentations to clients. Maintain design excellence throughout all project phases. Project Coordination Coordinate with architects, interior designers, engineers, medical equipment planners, and consultants. Participate in client presentations and meetings. Monitor project scope, schedule, and design deliverables. Assist Project Managers with resource planning and project execution. Technical Design Oversight Review construction documents for consistency with design intent. Ensure compliance with healthcare design industry standards. Support quality assurance and quality control reviews. Assist with resolution of technical and design challenges during construction. Client & Team Leadership Build and maintain strong client relationships. Mentor junior designers and architectural staff. Contribute to business development efforts and healthcare market growth. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field. 8-+10 + years of architectural design experience. Proven experience leading healthcare design projects of varying scales and complexity. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and healthcare planning tools. Strong understanding of healthcare planning and facility design. Preferred Qualifications Licensed Architect (RA) or NCIDQ certification. Knowledge of FGI Guidelines, ADA and NFPA.
