Full Job Description Description:
JAG Interiors is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support our interior design team on multifamily and affordable housing projects throughout California. This role provides administrative and technical support to the design team throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include preparing presentation materials, organizing specifications, coordinating samples, maintaining the materials library, and assisting with general design team operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual interested in growing within a collaborative and structured design environment. This role is part-time (approximately 20-25 hours per week) with the potential to grow into a full-time position and eventually a Designer role for the right candidate . Candidates who have previous professional work experience and are transitioning into interior design are encouraged to apply.Key Responsibilities:
Design Team Support Assist designers with product research and sourcing Order and track material samples from vendors Maintain and organize the design materials library Prepare materials for client presentations and design meetings Attend site visits and installation coordination with the Design Team as needed Project Support Assist with preparation for project installs and accessory packing Support designers with presentation materials and product documentation Assist with spec entry and maintaining furniture, fixture, and finish specifications Track product information, specifications, and pricing Vendor Coordination Schedule and coordinate vendor PK (product knowledge) meetings Maintain relationships with vendor representatives Request samples and product information as needed Design Operations Maintain and organize the materials and sample library Help keep project materials organized for the design team Provide general support to the design team as neededRequirements:
Requirements:
Degree or coursework in Interior Design or related field preferred Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow through on tasks and maintain organized documentation Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus but not required Preferred Experience Familiarity with design materials, fabrics, finishes, and furnishings Experience with product research, sample ordering, or specifications is helpful Previous professional work experience in any field is a plus Additional Requirements Ability to work part-time (approximately 20-25 hours per week) Ability to reliably commute to the Calabasas office Interest in growing within an interior design firm long-termSimilar remote jobs
