Job Description

Job Summary We are currently seeking an Interior Design Assistant to join our Interior Design firm in our Palos Verdes office. Our luxury residential design firm services clients primarily in South Bay. This person is creative, highly organized, flexible, detail oriented, comfortable managing multiple responsibilities and balancing the demands of multiple projects simultaneously. This is a support position for the Principal Designer of a very busy boutique design firm. Responsibilities Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure timely delivery. Utilize Houzz Pro to create and manage proposals, invoices, purchase orders and project schedules. Utilize design software such as Canva, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, and Adobe Photoshop for drafting, rendering, and client presentation purposes. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and construction teams to ensure accurate execution of designs. Maintain schedules (such as FFE, plumbing, paint and materials) Conduct site visits for inspections during renovation or remodeling phases to monitor progress and quality standards. Apply knowledge of interior design principles to create cohesive environments that reflect our design aesthetic. Assistant principal designer through all phases of project including conceptual design, schematic design, and design development. Assist with material and soft furnishings selections, procurement and tracking. Assist on project installations and photo shoots. Maintaining materials library General studio organization and administrative support Requirements 2+ years experience in luxury design related industry Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, both written and verbal Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Can successfully navigate a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency in Google systems Proficiency in AutoCAD Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, contractors, and team members. Both written and verbally. Knowledge of design principles to enhance interior aesthetics. Strong aesthetic sensibility and a passion for the interior design industry Understanding of social media strategy and engagement Plus but not required Proficiency in industry standard software and creative software including: 3-D Modeling with SketchUp or Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite. Art, architecture or interior design degree or continuing education Proven experience in interior design project management with a portfolio demonstrating successful projects. Solid understanding of construction processes, renovation techniques, remodeling procedures, and contract management. Experience with Houzz Pro a plus Physical Requirements Ability to travel locally or out of state Occasional overnight travel Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 30 lbs.
