Full-Time About Chambers & Chambers Chambers & Chambers is an award-winning residential architecture firm specializing in thoughtfully designed homes throughout Northern California and beyond. As we expand our interiors practice, we are seeking a talented and highly organized Intermediate Interior Designer to join our collaborative team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to exceptional custom residential projects from concept development through installation while working closely with senior designers, architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients. Position Summary The Intermediate Interior Designer will support the development and execution of interior architecture, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment across multiple residential projects. The ideal candidate combines strong creative instincts with excellent technical, organizational, and project-coordination skills. This person should be comfortable preparing drawings and specifications, sourcing materials and furnishings, and managing the detailed follow-through required to bring projects successfully to completion. Key Responsibilities Assist with interior design concepts, finish palettes, furniture plans, mood boards, and client presentations. Research and source finishes, furnishings, textiles, decorative lighting, plumbing fixtures, artwork, and accessories. Prepare interior drawings, including plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, and details. Coordinate finishes, millwork, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, and furnishings with architectural documentation. Prepare and maintain FF&E specifications, schedules, pricing, lead times, and vendor information. Coordinate samples, approvals, CFAs, strike-offs, shop drawings, and custom fabrication details. Support vendor communication, pricing requests, procurement tracking, delivery coordination, and project budgets. Participate in internal design reviews, client presentations, project meetings, and site visits. Assist with installation planning, styling, punch lists, and project closeout. Maintain organized project files, specifications, schedules, meeting notes, and action items. Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while communicating proactively with the wider project team. QualificationsRequired Five to seven years of professional interior design experience. Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Experience supporting residential projects through multiple phases of design and execution. Strong understanding of interior architecture, finishes, furnishings, textiles, decorative lighting, and plumbing. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Strong space-planning, drafting, presentation, and specification skills. Excellent organization, time management, and communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and specification-management software. Ability to work collaboratively while independently managing assigned responsibilities. Preferred High-end or luxury residential experience. Hospitality design experience is a plus. Familiarity with FF&E procurement and purchasing. Experience working within an integrated architecture and interiors practice. Working knowledge of Revit. Experience with Studio Designer or similar specification-management software. Familiarity with custom furniture, millwork, decorative lighting, and window treatments. Experience supporting installations and project closeout. Pay:
$85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
