Senior Interior Designer | Kamber Mason Design Kamber Mason Design is a boutique interior design studio focused on creating thoughtful, elevated residential spaces. We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and proactive Senior Interior Designer to support our growing team in San Rafael. This is a full-time, in-person position.

Compensation:

$45.00 - $55.00 per hour DOE This role is integral to the creative rhythm of the studio, supporting the Principal Designer across all phases of residential design projects, with a particular focus on the residential furnishings side of design. While KMD has historically specialized in the construction side of residential design, we are expanding our services to include full-service furnishings. We are seeking an experienced designer who is excited to help build and lead this growing aspect of the business. This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Interior Designer to help shape KMD's furnishings division, establishing systems, cultivating vendor relationships, and defining the client experience as the studio expands. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, design-driven, and excited to contribute meaningfully within a growing studio environment. Key Responsibilities Support the Principal Designer throughout all phases of residential interior design projects, from concept development through installation. Develop drawings, floor plans, elevations, and design documentation using interior design software, including Chief Architect (required). Experience with ArchiCAD is preferred, or a strong aptitude and willingness to learn. Experience with 20/20 is a plus. Source furnishings, materials, finishes, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and accessories that align with each project's design vision and budget. Prepare client presentations, mood boards, material palettes, and design specifications. Collaborate with the Operations Manager to oversee procurement and maintain project organization, including placing orders, tracking shipments, coordinating vendor communications, resolving order issues, and keeping schedules, timelines, budgets, documentation, and procurement tracking organized and up to date. Coordinate deliveries, returns, installations, and vendor and workroom logistics. Conduct site visits for field measurements, installations, punch lists, and general project support. Skills Five or more years of residential interior design experience, with strong expertise in residential furnishings and procurement. Interior design degree preferred. Thorough understanding of the residential interior design process from concept through completion. Solid understanding of interior design principles including color theory, lighting design, space planning, and material selection. Proficiency in Chief Architect. Experience with ArchiCAD and/or 20/20 is preferred. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities with ease. Clear, professional communicator with a calm, collaborative presence. Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable balancing creative and operational responsibilities. Proficient with Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management software. Local to Marin County or the surrounding area with reliable transportation. Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience with procurement or project management software.
