INTERIOR DESIGNER / PROJECT COORDINATOR
Established interior design firm located in Westport, Connecticut is seeking a full time Interior Designer / Project Coordinator.
STRONG AUTOCAD AND PROFESSIONAL PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.
Candidates must be able to independently produce and revise AutoCAD drawings and must have hands on experience with the procurement side of interior design, including preparing orders, reviewing acknowledgements, tracking goods, coordinating deliveries, following up with vendors, and resolving problems when orders do not go according to plan. We are specifically seeking a candidate with a minimum of three consecutive years of professional experience working within an established interior design or architecture firm. This is not an entry level position. The ideal candidate understands the complete design process from concept and documentation through purchasing, delivery, and installation. We need someone who is loves being organized, resourceful, and comfortable at being highly proactive.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Producing and revising AutoCAD drawings independently and accurately Preparing client proposals, specifications, schedules, and presentation materials Sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, materials, finishes, and accessories Requesting and reviewing vendor pricing, lead times, specifications, and availability Preparing purchase information and assisting with or managing orders Reviewing order acknowledgements for accuracy Tracking goods from order placement through delivery Maintaining accurate status information for active orders and projects Coordinating freight, receiving, delivery, and installation Following up with vendors regarding delays, damages, shortages, back orders, and discrepancies Proactively identifying and resolving procurement and delivery problems Coordinating replacements, repairs, claims, and corrective action when necessary Communicating with vendors, contractors, architects, workrooms, receivers, and clients Managing multiple project schedules, deadlines, follow ups, and deliverables Maintaining accurate project records and documentation Assisting with project accounting and Design Manager software Reviewing details carefully before information is presented to clients or released to vendors Assisting with site visits and installations as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum three consecutive years of professional experience working for an interior design or architecture firm Strong professional AutoCAD skills Ability to produce and revise drawings independently without basic software training Demonstrated experience with interior design procurement and purchasing Experience placing and tracking orders and reviewing vendor acknowledgements Experience coordinating deliveries, receiving, and installations Strong problem solving skills and experience resolving vendor, freight, damage, and order related issues Experience preparing proposals, specifications, schedules, and professional vendor correspondence Excellent organizational and follow through skills Ability to manage many active orders and projects simultaneously without losing track of details Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills Design Manager experience or similar procurement software.
Pay:
