Opened in August 2024 in Lexington, KY, we curate a mix of vintage finds, made-to-order furniture, and inspired home goods from brands we admire. Our space is equal parts showroom and studio — a place where customers can shop, explore design ideas, and create homes that feel truly lived in. About the Role We're looking for an Interior Designer to join our team and support our lead designer and owner on client projects from concept through install. This isn't a purely studio role — you'll be embedded in our showroom environment, working directly with customers and collaborating closely with the retail team. You should be as comfortable assisting with a client presentation as you are pulling samples on the shop floor. Revit will be a core part of your daily workflow. You'll use it to draft space plans, build 3D visualizations, and help put together client-ready presentations — so solid proficiency is essential. Key Responsibilities Design & Project Support Support the lead designer on residential and commercial interior projects, including space planning, material and furniture selection, and finish specifications. Draft project drawings and 3D renderings in Revit. Conduct site visits, take field measurements, and verify conditions against existing plans. Help build client presentations — mood boards, material boards, and design decks. Assist with project budgets, vendor coordination, order tracking, and install scheduling. Interpret and communicate across floorplans, elevations, and construction documents. Client & Showroom Work directly with walk-in and appointment-based clients, guiding them through design decisions and product selections. Style and maintain the showroom floor to reflect current trends and seasonal updates. Support the retail team with product knowledge, merchandising, and in-store customer experience. Creative & Brand Contribute to Marais Home's visual identity through content creation, trend research, and storytelling around new arrivals and design projects. What We're Looking For Proficiency in Revit A degree or equivalent training in interior design or a closely related field. A strong portfolio demonstrating residential or commercial design work. Experience coordinating with vendors, contractors, or clients on project timelines and logistics. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communicator — comfortable presenting to clients and collaborating across a small team. Must have Saturday availability. Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Nice to Have Experience Figma Why Marais Home You'll be part of a small, growing team in a space that values craft, taste, and doing things thoughtfully. This role offers real hands-on design experience — working closely with ownership on real projects — inside a store environment that's genuinely fun to work in.
