To support our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Interior Designer to join our Home Creation Studio team. This position is ideal for a design professional with residential construction experience who understands that great design must be both beautiful and buildable. As an Interior Designer, you will guide homebuyers through the planning and selections process for their new home. You will help buyers understand available plan options, make informed design decisions, and select interior and exterior finishes while working within Eastbrook Homes' established processes, construction standards, budgets, and timelines. This is a highly collaborative and customer-facing role that requires strong design ability, residential construction knowledge, attention to detail, organization, and exceptional communication skills. You will work closely with homebuyers as well as our Architecture, Estimating, Purchasing, Sales, and Construction teams to ensure selections and design decisions are clearly communicated, accurately documented, and successfully translated into the finished home. What You Will Be Doing Guide homebuyers through the design and selections process while providing an exceptional customer experience. Help buyers make thoughtful design decisions within established plans, options, budgets, processes, and timelines. Read and interpret architectural and residential construction plans. Draw and communicate plan modifications and options to scale. Develop and document electrical sketches, kitchen cabinet layouts, bathroom layouts, and other interior design details. Specify interior and exterior materials, including cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, paint colors, plumbing, fixtures, lighting, siding, stone, hardware, and other finishes. Apply residential construction knowledge to ensure design selections are functional, appropriate, and compatible with the home. Communicate design concepts, construction considerations, options, and limitations clearly and professionally to homebuyers. Prepare clear and accurate documentation and change requests that can be effectively interpreted by Architecture, Estimating, Purchasing, and Construction teams. Enter and process selections and pricing information within company software systems with a high degree of accuracy. Problem-solve design and construction-related challenges while balancing aesthetics, functionality, budget, and buildability. Collaborate effectively with designers, internal departments, trade partners, and vendors. Manage multiple buyers, projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Maintain complete and accurate documentation throughout the planning procesd. What You Need Professional interior design experience with a strong background in residential construction or new home building. Demonstrated knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and the relationship between design decisions and construction. Strong ability to read, understand, and explain architectural and residential construction plans. Experience with space planning, kitchen and bath design, cabinetry, and residential finish selections. Strong knowledge of interior residential products and materials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and professionally with homebuyers, coworkers, vendors, and trade partners. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to guide buyers through decisions, explain complex information clearly, and navigate challenging conversations professionally. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential design or construction conflicts before they become field issues. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also working independently and taking ownership of assigned projects. Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar design and plan-review software is preferred. Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new design, documentation, and pricing software. Good mathematical aptitude and the ability to work accurately with dimensions, scale, and measurements. Professionalism, enthusiasm, adaptability, and a desire to contribute to a high-performing team. Kitchen cabinet design experience and cabinetry software knowledge are highly desirable.
