Job Description

Build your passion for design into something real. This apprenticeship builds a path to a full career as a Cabinetry Designer — with real clients, real projects, and a structured path to get there. The Cabinetry Design Apprentice participates in a structured development program that can last up to 36 months, designed to build foundational and advanced skills in cabinetry design, sales, order processing, and project coordination. This role combines hands-on showroom engagement, technical design work, and administrative responsibilities to prepare the apprentice for a full-time role as a Cabinetry Designer. This role will be initially based in our Petoskey, MI showroom, with occasional travel to our additional locations (Harbor Springs, Gaylord, Boyne City and Traverse City) required. What you'll do Design Development & Technical Skills Learn and apply cabinetry design principles, industry terminology, and product knowledge Create layouts, renderings, and client-ready designs using Pro Kitchens software Participate in vendor and manufacturer training to stay current on products and innovations Sales Engagement & Customer Experience Greet and assist customers in the showroom environment Schedule and coordinate client appointments Assist in initial client consultations and needs assessments Build rapport with customers and support consultative selling approaches Support Design Team in the preparation of proposals and pricing strategies Participate in client presentations Project Coordination & Systems Management Learn and utilize Spruce system for customer profiles, order entry, and data management Create and manage accurate sales orders, including pricing and revisions Track project timelines, including order placement, delivery, and installation by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders Use Outlook Calendar to manage schedules, appointments, and deadlines in ensure team coordination What you'll need to succeed A strong work ethic Professional demeanor and the communication skills to go with it Well-developed listening skills that support a collaborative environment Comfort with technology and the confidence to learn new platforms Attention to detail All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check (including MVR) and drug screen. Valid Drivers License required.
