INTERIOR DESIGNER / SPACE PLANNER U.S.

($73,400 - $141,891; based on qualifications and experience.) (Re-advertised; prior applicants remain under consideration) The Office of the Circuit Executive seeks an experienced Interior Designer/Space Planner to serve as the technical expert in interior architecture, design, space programming, finish standards, and furniture specifications. The scope of work will encompass both renovation and new construction projects, ranging from minor office reconfigurations to large-scale facility installations, and will involve regular travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed AutoCAD space plans, 2D/3D elevations, finish schedules, and customized furniture layouts for renovations and new construction. Consult with judicial officers and court executives on interior finishes, acoustic treatments, and furnishings, balancing preferences with the S. Courts Design Guide . Review construction drawings and submittals for compliance with building codes, federal accessibility standards (ABAAS), and judiciary policies. Manage FF&E funding requests, competitive bidding, vendor pricing, and procurement packages via GSA schedules, with a strong emphasis on commercial furniture specification, procurement, and installation.
Qualifications:
7+ years of specialized commercial interior design, space planning, move coordination, and FF&E specification experience, with a heavy emphasis on furniture systems. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD. Knowledge of government procurement policies and the U.S. Courts Design Guide preferred. Associate degree in interior design, interior architecture, drafting, or a related technical field required; bachelor's degree in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture preferred. Must meet federal judiciary citizenship/employment eligibility requirements (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident actively seeking citizenship). Position subject to FBI background check. Moderate travel required.
