Job Description

Production Manager for Interior Design Home Store Hopewell NJ Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day coordination of procurement, inventory, showroom operations, order management, vendor relationships, shipping logistics, and studio administration. Working closely with the interior designer, the Production Manager will ensure client orders and showroom operations are accurately tracked, organized, and completed efficiently and on schedule. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing multiple orders, vendors, deadlines, and priorities and has an interest in interior design, furnishings, and materials. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement and ordering for client projects and showroom merchandise, including pricing, invoices, payments, and order records. Track orders from placement through delivery, monitoring lead times, backorders, changes, damages, returns, and other issues. Maintain accurate inventory records, including creating SKUs, receiving, tagging, pricing, organizing, replenishing, and conducting annual physical inventory. Oversee showroom organization, cleanliness, merchandising, product displays, samples, and materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, sales representatives, trade partners, receivers, and delivery providers. Establish and maintain trade accounts and handle vendor and trade paperwork. Coordinate shipments and deliveries to receivers, warehouses, and client homes, maintaining accurate documentation and providing status updates. Support day-to-day studio administration, including records, files, calendars, meetings, appointments, and operational systems. Assist the designer with product research, material and sample organization, quantity and cost calculations, and preparation of fabrics and materials for custom projects. Attend trade shows, vendor events, and industry appointments to research new products, vendors, and industry offerings. Provide general design and project support as needed. Qualifications Highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive. Ability to manage multiple projects, orders, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional follow-through. Comfortable communicating with vendors, clients, receivers, delivery companies, and trade professionals. Proficient with email, spreadsheets, calendars, and general office software. Able to work independently, anticipate needs, and take initiative. Interest in interior design, furniture, textiles, and home furnishings. Previous experience in interior design, showroom management, procurement, purchasing, operations, or a related field preferred. Ability to occasionally lift, move, organize, and handle merchandise and material samples.
